How often do you remember to thank God?

This week I had a doctors appointment and while I talked with my doctor she made a comment about how easy of a patient I was. She measured my belly and it was exactly the size it should be, my blood pressure and heart rate were all great and the baby's heart rate was great. She made some more comments kind of humorously about how great it was to be so healthy and have everything going so well. I joined her in joking around and left happy that everything was so perfect. As I left and went home I realized how often we don't take the time to thank God for the blessing of our health. I have thought about it often this week and am continuing to praise the Lord for such a healthy pregnancy.

Another thing that I just am praising the Lord for is that late last night we got an email from a friend in Ames that asked us to pray for several families in our church in Ames as one of the companies in town is going to lay off 6-8% of their employees next week. It sounds funny that I would be praising the Lord about that but this was a company that Mark applied to work for and was really hoping he would get a job with them so we could continue to live in Ames. I do believe that God was protecting us from this layoff by not allowing Mark to get a job offer from them. I am still amazed by the way God works out EVERY detail of our lives. We do want to pray for our friends that do work for the company that they will not lose their jobs next week.
"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." --Romans 8:28

Hey, what a great blog!!! God is truly worthy to be praised!!!

I am so glad you pregnancy is going so well. We have a friend who just had a miscarriage. We really shouldn't take so much for granted.

I listened to NCDM today and some testimony was about a woman who complained that she didn't have kids and then she had kids and she complained that she didn't have free time... you know the story.

It really helped to think of blessings as blessings and imagine how I would feel if I didn't have the things He has blessed me with ~ including you!

Love you !
